Player welfare is paramount to any performance program. The information you enter into Sportly gives your coach an insight into how you are training, and allows them to adjust your program accordingly, to minimise the risk of injury.
Your training is translated into a metric called Training Units - a combination of training duration and training intensity. Each day, all of the training units are added up, to calculate a Daily Training Load.
In isolation, this information may not mean a whole lot, but over time, it provides critical insight into whether you are overtraining or under-training, and the corresponding risk of injury as a result.
High Performance managers look at changes in your weekly training load (Acute) and compare this to previous weeks and long term averages (Chronic) to form an opinion on how to adjust your training levels.
The more information you provide, and the more regular this information is entered, the better the model your coach can use to help you develop.
